Preparing for her career by following her passion

For Hannah, her perfect degree was all about the right combination.

She wanted a double degree that gave her a unique and adaptable set of career skills. One which let her pursue her main areas of study – law and politics – but also enabled her to delve in deep to other subjects.

She wanted to be creative with what she was studying. To complement her core expertise with her own interests.

La Trobe’s Bachelor of Laws/Bachelor of Arts turned out to be exactly what she was looking for.

Watch Hannah talk about her time studying arts and law at La Trobe.

‘I learnt a lot of different skills about working with people from all different backgrounds and people who have lots of different views,’ Hannah says. ‘I feel like these skills are really adaptable and really flexible, and I feel like they can be applied to such a broad range of situations and careers.’

La Trobe’s arts and humanities subjects give students the skills and experience to thrive in any workplace. That’s why they’re ranked among the world’s best.1

Hannah has already been able to apply these skills in real industry environments – including the Fair Work Commission, where she worked throughout her entire degree.

‘I definitely feel work ready after leaving La Trobe,’ she says. ‘I feel like there’s been a lot of opportunities that are provided to be able to meet people within the industry and be able to get work experience in the industry.’
