Be prepared before you travel
Before you travel to Australia you will require a valid Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) and Visa.
Once you have your CoE and Visa, you can arrange your travel to Australia.
When you enter Australia, you may be required to complete COVID-19 testing (depending on your country of departure). Please refer to the Department of Home Affairs website for the specific COVID-19 test requirements.

Arrange your accommodation
Before you leave your home country, you need to book accommodation for the duration of your studies.
Accommodation information for the duration of your studies
On-Campus Accommodation is available at our Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo and Melbourne (Bundoora) campuses.
Special rates and offers are currently available for newly arriving enrolled international students.
All On-Campus Accommodation must be booked before arriving in Australia.

Update your Australian contact information
As a condition of your student visa you must advise the University of your address in Australia within seven days of your arrival, and inform us within seven days if your address changes during your studies.
Update your contact details on StudentOnLine, including your Australian residential address and mobile number, as well as your emergency contact person and their details.

Register your arrival at the ASK La Trobe Help Zone at your campus
Visit the ASK La Trobe Help Zone at your campus to register your arrival.
Please note it is a mandatory requirement to register your arrival to La Trobe at your campus.
Some of the support you can receive in the Help Zone includes:
- confirming your enrolment
- meeting fellow students
- finding out more about on-campus accommodation
- tips for settling into life on campus in Australia
- information about what’s happening on campus

Activate your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Once you arrive in Australia, you will need to activate your OSHC.
If you purchased your OSHC through La Trobe, Medibank will be your OSHC provider. You can activate your membership via:
- the Medibank OSHC app (download ‘Medibank OSHC App’ via the Apple or Google Play store)
- online
If you have organised your own health cover, please contact your OSHC provider directly on how to activate your policy with them.
