Studying in 2021
We look forward to welcoming students onto our Victorian campuses once it is safe and practical to do so, and in line with Government directions.
We are planning to offer face to face classes in as many subjects as we can in Semester 1, 2021 across our campuses, though some classes will continue to be delivered online. As classes return on our campuses, we are prioritising student and staff safety and working within the guidelines provided by the Victorian Government Department of Health and Human Services.
Some of your classes (particularly lectures) may be delivered online for the following reasons:
- social distancing requirements that restrict us from accommodating everyone in a suitable venue
- providing classes for students unable to return to Australia or the state of Victoria
- accessibility for students and teaching staff with vulnerable health conditions or those restricted from attending campus in person until such time as a COVID-19 vaccine is available.
- the subject is offered in fully online mode only
All on campus face-to-face activities and any site-dependent learning activities (field work, site visits, placements etc.) delivered in Semester 1, will comply with strict physical distancing requirements and all teaching spaces will be cleaned in accordance with COVID-safe hygiene requirements.
Student support services will return to face-to-face operations on our Victorian campuses from February 2021. We will continue to provide online access to these services in recognition of the improved access for students this has provided.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and community remains La Trobe’s top priority and we will continue to ensure University operations comply with the Government’s public health directions.
