Gabra Biik, Wurruwila Wutja (Clever Country, Clever People) is La Trobe University's Indigenous Research Centre that was developed as part of La Trobe’s Indigenous Research Strategy 2022-2030, Research Strategy 2030 and a commitment to the Indigenous Communities that La Trobe serves.

The Indigenous Research Centre is a virtual and practised-based research centre that enhances La Trobe University’s capacity to flourish and create partnerships with Indigenous communities in Australia and globally. The Centre aims to facilitate Indigenous community research partnerships as well as provide a culturally safe space for Indigenous researchers.

La Trobe University will work to provide impact through research collaboration with the indigenous communities who’s lands our campuses serve, and across Australia.

If you wish to engage with us to do research that involves Indigenous communities, please ensure you have completed community consultation prior to contacting us. We aim to conduct research with Indigenous support and will follow AIATSIS guidelines.
