Students are able to access ArcGIS Desktop from LaTrobe on the Hub.
Install the ArcGIS student trial software
The installation process is detailed, please follow the steps int he attached document.
A. Before you install ArcGIS for Desktop
Check your system requirements to make sure your computer has the hardware and software required for the trial.
Sign in to Latrobe OnTheHub (https://latrobe.onthehub.com) using your student account and search for ‘ArcGIS’, add this product to your cart.
Once you have ‘checked out’ you will be given an activation code, take note of this you will need it later.
B. Activate your authorization code
Visit www.esri.com/educationedition to begin the process of activating and downloading your ArcGIS for Desktop Student Trial software.
Log in using your Existing Esri account, or sign-up for a new Esri account, if necessary. If you use your student account, make sure your email is in the format: studentid@students.latrobe.edu.au
Enter the authorization code and click Activate ArcGIS.
Select ArcGIS 10.7.1 (You do not have access to ArcGIS Pro).
Select ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMAP).
C . Installing the Software on your PC
Locate the ArcGIS Download on your PC and double-click to run.
Select a location to save the extracted files (documents is fine).
Once these files have extracted select close and the installer will automatically launch.
Work through the installer step by step as follows:
Read and agree to the Master Agreement.
Select the Complete installation type.
Choose the location ArcGIS/ Python will be saved (you can leave this as default).
Begin the installation.
The ArcGIS administration wizard will automatically appear. Ensure you have selected the settings pictured, then click Authorise now.
Select I have installed my software and need to authorise it.
Select Authorise with Esri now using the internet.
Enter your personal details. An * indicates a required field.
Enter your authorisation details as per the image below:
Note: Your industry should represent your area of study.
Enter your authorisation code, this is the one we received from La Trobe OnTheHub.
Select I don’t want to authorise any extensions at this time.
Leave the next page as is and click Next.
Click Finish and okay and ArcGIS desktop will now be installed on your PC.
