Online pre-departure briefings
All La Trobe commencing international students and their families are invited to participate in a live one hour pre-departure webinar, to help you prepare for study and life in Australia.
Topics covered at the briefings include:

eFriends Transition @ La Trobe International Welcome Group
Our Transition @ La Trobe Facebook/Weibo program puts you in touch with trained eFriends and other new students before you leave home. An eFriend is an experienced La Trobe University student who volunteers their time to answer questions and queries about living in Australia and studying at La Trobe University through Facebook and Weibo.
This program will be open to commencing students of Semester two, 2018 from Monday 11 June and will close on Friday 17 August 2018. Students will be invited to join the group via email or can ask to join our ‘2018 Transition @ La Trobe - International Welcome Group’.
If you already have a Facebook account, just log in to your account and copy URL link into the browser. Click the ‘Request to join’ button.
If you don’t yet have a Facebook account simply fill in the registration details on the Facebook home page. Then, copy the above URL link into the browser. Click ‘Request to join’ button. Your registration will be confirmed within 72 hours.
** Please ensure the name of your Facebook account appears the same as in your application to La Trobe University.
Students who are living in China can join La Trobe Weibo group from here or copy this URL link (http://weibo.com/latrobeuniaus) into the browser. You will find useful pre-departure information and receive answers to your enquiries via Weibo.
Arriving on the weekend
If you arrive on a weekend or public holiday you will find that most University offices are closed. Where possible, we recommend that you arrive on a weekday. If you do arrive on a weekend, read the Weekend Survival Guide beforehand.
