Subject outline
In this multi-disciplinary subject, students will explore the way land, culture, & biodiversity interact throughout time, & the way this interplay shapes the history, ecosystems, present understandings, utilisation, & possible futures of particular landscapes. This is an immersive, location-based, intensive subject where students investigate the way different worldviews shape understandings of natural & cultural history, & how they impact on particular places. Using diverse perspectives, experiential field excursions, blended learning & underpinned with key stakeholder relationships, students will reflect on understanding places in both local & national settings & discover & re-imagine possible approaches for the region to meet future global challenges. In this subject students address La Trobe's Global Citizenship Essential.
