This subject focuses on the analysis of language above the level of the sentence, exploring the core concepts and methods of discourse analysis. Using a range of texts and types of talk(e.g. newspaper articles, doctor patient consultations, narratives and public signage), students will develop skills in a range of approaches. Central themes include recognising and analysing organisation, relationships, identities and power in discourse
