In this subject students will further develop their competencies in pathophysiology by evaluating general medical conditions that affect the foot. The subject investigates rheumatology, neurology, cardiology, endocrine, renal, respiratory, oncology and general dermatology conditions that affect the foot and the podiatric management of these persons. Those medical conditions that are more common in podiatric practice and put the foot at high risk for complications (eg. diabetes and peripheral vascular disease) have already been evaluated in POD5HRF.
