Subject outline

In this subject pre-service teachers apply the principles and practices of effective teaching and learning and independently plan and execute teaching units. Pre-service teachers will also demonstrate appropriate skills to deal with a range of workplace health and safety issues in the classroom. Particular attention is paid to integrate university and school-based learning through reflection, observation, inquiry and adaptation. The assessment task comprises four core components that, taken collectively, provide confirmation of graduate teachers' readiness for classroom practice. The completed assessment will show readiness for evidence-based inquiry and for use of data to improve learning and teaching.
