Subject outline
In this subject you will extend your understanding of creative writing by developing long-form fiction in a chosen genre. This will be an excerpt of a novel or novella. In your creative and critical practice you will consider how the longer form affects the use of technical elements such as plot and structure, POV, character and setting. You will engage in an intensive revision process, assisted by peer-feedback. The subject will offer further opportunities to develop your professional practice through synopsis writing, reading to peers, integrating workshop comments and editing after a workshop.
