Subject outline
Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is a six months work placement in an engineering corporation, company or other engineering employer (for example, City Council) working as part of a team on an engineering project or product development. This subject will allow the student to experience a real work place environment and through this become 'work ready' after graduation. This experience should enhance the student's teamwork, time management and interpersonal skills. It will also expose students to the engineering decision making process, the importance of economic and business management, and the need for innovation. Students will extend their knowledge and skills in their specialist sub-disciplines.
