This subject provides students with a comprehensive overview of the tourism and hospitality industry in Australia. Initially it creates an awareness of the breadth of the industry and of the interests and activities it encompasses. Students examine various components of the industry, with a particular focus on the nature of its organisation and the sort of data and information it generates. Contemporary issues form part of a flexible curricula that seeks to provide a base from which the student can make informed choices for later studies in the course.
