In this subject, students will learn about ethics, law and management and how they will influence, or be the focus of, their practice as health professionals. Using contemporary case studies, students will develop an understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, an appreciation of ethical, legal and managerial aspects of their practice as health professionals and basic skills in human resource and financial management. An understanding of ethics, law and management pertaining to the fields of health care and public health is important for students studying in diverse professional areas including health promotion, allied health, nursing, dentistry, occupational health and environmental health.
