Subject outline
In this subject, students will develop a detailed understanding of human physiology relevant to dentistry. The syllabus run by the Department of Human Biosciences covers physiology, biochemistry and anatomy, describing normal homeostasis, which will provide the basis for later teaching in altered homeostasis and pathology. The syllabus run by the Department of Dentistry and Oral Health involves dental anthropology and more advanced didactics in dental histology and orofacial embryology, to complement and extend the teaching carried out in ORH1IOS.
