Subject outline
This is an intensive language subject for students with no prior knowledge of French. It develops the four primary skills of language acquisition - speaking, listening, reading and writing - through a task-based approach to learning. Upon successful completion of the subject, students will be able to read and write simple texts in French, and to understand and participate in a variety of communicative situations. They will also have begun to take charge of their own learning, and to talk and act independently in French. Students will work towards attaining an A1 level in the Common European Reference Framework for Languages (CEFR).
