This subject addresses La Trobe's Sustainability Thinking Essential. Sustainability Thinking entails deep appreciation of how the choices we make affects the natural, economic, social, political and cultural systems — now and in the future.

Subject outline

This subject recognises that storytelling is a global, cross-cultural phenomenon; that the stories that people and nations tell of themselves are made and re-made across time and cultures; and that the sustainability of cultures and of the individuals within them depends on the community's ability to tell stories. This subject looks at different forms of storytelling across a range of genres and modes of art practice. This subject addresses La Trobe's Sustainability Essential, developing students' ability to understand the significance of narrative in making sustainable cultures.Sustainability Thinking entails deep appreciation of how the choices we make affect the natural, economic, social, political and cultural systems - now and in the future.
