Subject outline
In this subject students are introduced to the theory and practice of clinical assessment techniques used within the prosthetic and orthotic clinical setting. Principles of normal and pathological body postures and function are addressed. There is significant focus on assessment of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders affecting the limbs and spine. Practical sessions develop clinical assessment skills and provide experience in the applicable assessment techniques.
