Subject outline
This subject will provide students with advanced knowledge of environmental intervention for people with disabilities, to enable access and effective occupational performance in the home, work and community (e.g.: access audits, kitchen or workstation redesign). It combines lectures, practical classes, student presentations and outside visits. The theoretical framework of the subject will be based on the Canadian Model of Occupational Performance, and WHOs International Classification of Functioning Disability and Health (ICF). Students will gain skills in: clinical reasoning; the application of evidence based practice; advanced technical drawing and computer aided design (CAD); preparation of reports for public bodies and legal purposes.
