Subject outline

This subject addresses cultural production, research and practice in a range of audio-visual technologies including social media formats and the formation, maintenance and theorisation of audiences in contemporary digital cultures. Mobile and personal media technologies separate from, as well as integrated into, industry practices and media arts have changed the landscape of screen culture, providing a range of viewing experiences alongside television. This will be examined in relation to various key research methodologies relevant to both media and social sciences.
