Subject outline
This interactive subject will explore various forms of dispute resolution used commonly in the United States. Forms explored will include mediation, arbitration, and trial (including aspects of pretrial litigation, with an emphasis on pretrial discovery). Students will learn the structure of and key concepts associated with each type of dispute-resolution technique, how and when to choose one over the other, and advocacy techniques associated with each. Students will have the opportunity to participate in simulations related to the different processes.
