Subject outline
In this subject students will examine the legal framework of private international business transactions, including: the legal architecture of the international economic system; international sale of goods; bills of lading; letters of credit; government regulation of imports and exports; technology transfer and intellectual property protection; and forms and regulation of foreign direct investment. These topics are considered generally and in specific comparative context across countries (including industrialized countries, transitional economies, and developing countries) and across types of transaction subject matter (e.g. technology transfer, sale of goods).
