Subject outline

In this subject students will use the principles taught in Principles of Health Informatics A (health systems analysis and design) to explore technical requirements and processes surrounding the introduction of electronic health records (EHRs). Using an enquiry-based learning approach, students will develop an understanding of issues related to EHR such as privacy, person and provider identification, hybrid EHR, interoperability, terminologies, EHR structure, protocol-based systems, decision support systems, and internet applications.
