Subject outline
This subject introduces you to the fundamental clinical assessment procedures used in the audiological evaluation of adult patients. Through lectures and workshops, you will learn how to take histories and perform otoscopy, pure tone audiometry, acoustic immittance tests and speech discrimination tests. Furthermore, you will begin to develop clinical decision-making skills as you learn to select and administer appropriate tests, interpret and integrate your audiological findings, and write comprehensive reports incorporating referrals and appropriate management strategies. Your learning in this subject will be assessed through lab reports and exams.
