Practera Industry Placements

La Trobe is offering students the opportunity to complete an industry placement through the Practera Program. Enrolling in either the Industry Placement Minor or the 15-credit point LTU3IND elective subject, students complete a 6-week program offered by Practera.

How it works

6-week remote Industry Placement Project where teams of students work collaboratively to solve a real industry client challenge. You will receive a project brief from your client and will need to present your research and insights at the end of the program. You’ll receive client and professional mentor feedback along the way and will be supported with content via the Practera work-based learning platform.

The program aims to provide students with an opportunity to:

  • Develop 21st century employability skills
  • Get real business experience
  • Expand social and professional connections

Student requirements

To complete the Practera Program and get the most out of your learning experience, you must:

  • Commit to 100 hours of work across the program duration
  • Attend and actively contribute towards team, client and mentor meetings
  • Complete all Practera project deliverables with your team, which include: a project plan, a draft project report and a final implementation report
  • Complete and pass LTU subject assessments for your enrolled subject
