If you experience a problem with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) and require assistance, please see the MFA help page.
If you're experiencing issues with your password, try resetting your password or if issues persist, contact us.
If you’re not receiving expected emails, check that the sender is using your email address (not your username) to contact you.
Your La Trobe email address and username are different, and it’s important to use them correctly:
- Email address: This is used to send and receive emails. It is formatted as
@students.latrobe.edu.au. Make sure this is the address others use to contact you via emails. Username: This is used only for signing into your La Trobe account. It is formatted as @students.ltu.edu.au. Emails sent to your username will not reach your mailbox.
If you are signed into Outlook with a personal account you will still be able to access your La Trobe student emails.
Outlook Desktop Application
For the Outlook Desktop Application you can add your La Trobe student email account.
If you wish to do this please access the Microsoft support guide.
Outlook Web
In Outlook on the web, you can access another account by selecting your profile and choosing ‘Sign in with a different account’. However, we recommend using a separate browser for your La Trobe account to ensure you're properly signed in and to avoid login issues.
To search for a specific email, use Outlook Web (OWA) search function.
- Navigate to Outlook Web
- Search keywords in the top search bar and select the 'All folders' option
- This will conduct a search of your entire mailbox for emails, attachments and contacts that contain the keyword(s) you're searching.
