Subject outline

In this subject, you will analyse and critique models for clinical documentation improvement. The subject will introduce key, specialised enabling technologies that facilitate the evaluation of clinical documentation for improved organisational, financial and patient safety outcomes. You will appraise and justify critical ethical and legal requirements and other compliance standards that underpin clinical documentation practice and programs. Using your knowledge of health classification you will undertake a documentation analysis via audit to demonstrate competence in translating clinical data into effective managerial, financial and clinical information for decision-making; you will effectively communicate audit findings to clinical stakeholders.
