Subject outline

In this subject students will be provided with the opportunity for theoretical and experiental learning about the skills of effective art therapy counselling and psychotherapy. Emphasis is given to the humanistic person-centred approach, but other approaches introduced include psychodynamic, existential, gestalt, cognitive, narrative and solution-focused approaches. This subject involves the exploration of personal material with the goal of becoming more creative and congruent, both personally and professionally, through the process of reflection on personal issues whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries to the context.
