You need more support to plan and develop your career skills.
  • We launched the new Career Readiness Check. This quick and easy online questionnaire gives you access to personalised updates about events, programs and resources to support every stage of your career development.
  • We now run free Employability Expos at Melbourne (Bundoora) and Bendigo campuses. At these Expos, you can explore career pathways, connect with top employers and learn about job opportunities, placements and graduate programs.
  • We redesigned CareerHub to make it simpler to navigate and find what you need. Whether it’s completing the Career Ready Advantage Award, finding jobs or accessing workshops and resources, it's now easier than ever to build your career skills.
You need easier access to resources to support your learning.
  • We improved our LMS by introducing templates to streamline your experience and ensure comprehensive content is always available.
  • We’ve continued to build the Library’s “digital and free” project, increasing the number of free, high-quality texts available to all students.
  • We increased online and on-campus support for your learning at the Library, with more training, workshops and events.
You want more accessible wellbeing services, including counselling and legal support.
  • We’re making it easier to access counselling when you need it. We’ve reduced wait times by adjusting staffing, including the introduction of new case managers, and we now offer online group counselling sessions.
  • We’ve expanded the Health and Wellbeing Centre at our Melbourne (Bundoora) campus to create one central access point where you can speak to someone and find the services you need. You can also explore our full range of services online, including financial counselling, mental health support and legal services.
You need better spaces and equipment on campus to support your studies.
  • We’ve expanded Library online services hours to 9 am–6 pm and increased the opening hours of the Library. During semesters, you can now access the Library 24 hours a day at the Bendigo and Melbourne (Bundoora) campuses and 8 am–midnight at the Albury-Wodonga campus.
  • We’re continually improving campus spaces. This includes the recent Shepparton campus transformation and expanded clinical labs at Albury-Wodonga and Mildura, as well as new student accommodation in Bendigo. Work is also underway at our Melbourne (Bundoora) campus to deliver our University City, with $5 billion of investment in new developments, thanks to joint funding from La Trobe and the State Government.
You want new and exciting ways to meaningfully connect with your fellow students and peers.
  • We launched the Peer Connect Hub. This brings together all the ways you can connect with your peers at La Trobe, including student clubs and societies, volunteering or leadership opportunities and our Student as Partners Network.
  • We awarded more than $25,000 to students under the Student Experience Grants program in 2025. Projects include the Queer Lounge revamp, LMS 101 video, LinkUp in Cyber and the Aboriginal Cultural Engagement and Archaeology Excursions.
You want a student-led body to represent and advocate on behalf of all La Trobe students.
  • We established the La Trobe Student Council – an independent, student-led Council that will consult with the student body and collectively advocate for student ideas and feedback.
You need more support when commencing and completing your placement.
  • We now have Placement Support Staff available to answer your placement questions in person and online. You can find them in our Welcome Zones or online via the LMS subject: PPO Placement Partnering and Operations. We published helpful guides, resources and checklists on the Placement LMS subject.
