Wellbeing Services group programs
Join group programs that give you the skills and confidence to do well at university and in life. With hands‑on psychological strategies and shared student experiences, you’ll connect with others, discover what works for you and walk away with tools you can use every day.
Semester 2, 2026 Groups
Do you find yourself:
- Staring at your screen, unsure where to start?
- Scrolling through social media, watching videos, cleaning the house or completing random tasks instead of tackling assignments or other important tasks?
- Feeling overwhelmed by tasks and unsure how to proceed?
You're not alone. Procrastination is a common challenge among students. The ACT on Procrastination program, offered by La Trobe's Counselling team, is designed to help you overcome these hurdles – giving you practical tools to shift your mindset and take action.
What you will gain:
In this three-session online program, you will:
- Understand your personal procrastination patterns
. - Learn strategies to boost motivation and take committed action
- Use strategies to change unhelpful behaviours
. - Have the chance to connect with other students who get it—you’re not in this alone
.

You attend all three sessions:
- Wednesday 26 August
- Wednesday 9 September
- Wednesday 16 September
Time: 1:30pm - 3:30pm

Please note: There is no session during the mid-semester break.
This is a small group program. To help create a supportive space, we ask that you:
- Have your camera on (as much as you’re able to)
- Arrive on time to each session

Join our three week online group program
Getting Unstuck from Overthinking is a practical, supportive program run by the La Trobe Counselling team. It’s designed to help you break free from thought spirals and take back control of your focus and wellbeing.
What you’ll get from the program:
- Explore your own overthinking patterns and how they impact what matters most to you.
- Learn proven techniques to disrupt worry and rumination.
- Discover how to unhook from unhelpful thoughts and painful feelings and reconnect with the present.

Quieting Your Inner Critic is a supportive 3-week online group program run by the La Trobe Counselling team. Together, we’ll explore practical, evidence-based strategies to help you make meaningful changes — with more self-kindness and less self-criticism.

Because this is a group program, we ask that cameras are turned on so everyone can feel connected and supported. You’re welcome to participate in ways that feel comfortable for you through group discussions, small breakout rooms or the chat function.
You don’t have to be perfect to belong here — just open to trying something new.
