MyApps Virtual Desktop

The MyApps Virtual Desktop (VDI) provides access to a computer experience similar to a computer operated on campus. Students have the capability to access certain tuition software using this solution in a similar manner to being on a physical campus in a computer class room.

Microsoft OneDrive has been integrated into the MyApps Virtual Desktop (VDI) solution allowing documents to be easily accessed and transferred.

Accessing via web browser online

NOTE: Recommended web browsers (Google ChromeMozilla FirefoxNew Microsoft Edge (Chromium) (Safari is not supported).

  1. Using a web browser navigate to https://myapps.latrobe.edu.au/
  2. Enter your username (example: 1234567@students.ltu.edu.au), press Next button
  3. Enter your password, press Sign in
  4. Within the top menu select the Apps tab
  5. Select the three dots to display the launch options and select Launch from Browser
  6. Press the OK button
  7. You have successfully connected to a Virtual Desktop via a Web Browser

Accessing via desktop client

NOTE: Recommended web browsers (Google ChromeMozilla FirefoxNew Microsoft Edge (Chromium) (Safari is not supported)

  1. Using a web browser navigate to https://myapps.latrobe.edu.au/
  2. Enter your username (example: 1234567@students.ltu.edu.au), press Next button
  3. Enter your password, press Sign in
  4. Within the top menu select the Apps tab
  5. Select the three dots to display the launch options and select Launch from Client
  6. Press the Launch button (Note: If not already completed you will need to install the VMWare Horizon client software)
  7. Press the OK button
  8. You have successfully connected to a VMWare Horizon Virtual Desktop via a Web Browser

Desktop client Installation

NOTE: In this example we will be installing the Windows VMWare Horizon Client, however the steps are similar for Apple macOS

  1. Using a web browser navigate to https://myapps.latrobe.edu.au/
  2. Enter your username (example: 1234567@students.ltu.edu.au), press Next button
  3. Enter your password, press Sign in
  4. Within the top menu select the Apps tab
  5. Select the three dots to display the launch options and select Launch from Client
  6. Press the Launch button
  7. Select the VMWare Horizon Client suitable for your computer and select the Go to Downloads button
  8. Select the Download button to commence downloading the software installation package
  9. Once the Download is complete select open file
  10. Press the Agree & Install button
  11. Wait for the installation to complete
  12. Press the Finish button
  13. If prompted perform a system restart

Known Issues

Mac Certificate Issue

If you are encountering issues launching a Virtual Desktop from the MyApps portal on your Mac computer and you see an error relating to a revoked certificate, please follow the below steps to resolve.

  1. Open KeyChain Access on your Mac computer. You can search for this using Spotlight (Press Command + Spacebar).
  2. Find the certificate called QuoVadis Global SSL ICA G3 and select it
  3. Right click on the certificate QuoVadis Global SSL ICA G3 and select Delete “QuoVadis Global SSL ICA G3”
  4. Press Delete
  5. If you are prompted for your admin password, enter it and press Enter

Note: Some users may need to manually add the new certificate to their Mac computer.

  1. Download the new certificate directly from the following link:

    http://trust.quovadisglobal.com/qvsslg3.crt

  2. Double click on the certificate to import it. If you are prompted for an administrator password, please enter it and press Enter.

After completing either of the above steps, restart your web browser and try launching a Virtual Desktop again. If issues persist, please contact Student IT Support.
