In this subject students will complete 200 hours of clinical placement based at a mental health or other health care setting in the community under the supervision of an onsite clinical practitioner. This placement is the first of three over the course of Master of Art Therapy and designed to meet the registration requirements of the Australian and New Zealand Arts Therapy Association (ANZATA). Students will undertake a period of orientation, develop an entry level art therapy case load and experience clinical supervision. They will have an entry level experience of being a member of a clinical team and will be expected to enter case notes, and as appropriate to educate placement colleagues about art therapy via, for example, a presentation.
