Subject outline

In this subject students will complete a total of 60 credit points (NSG4NTA & NSG4NTB) in order to successfully complete the thesis component of Honours. Students are required to undertake a nursing research project associated with one of the research interests of Nursing and Midwifery under the guidance of a supervisor. Students are required to attend regular research seminars designed to provide peer and academic support and guidance. Regular contact with the project supervisor is required.

01. Demonstrate advanced theoretical and applied knowledge of a specialist nursing topic.

Activities:
Regular communication via face to face meetings, email or telephone with supervisors to refine the research question and methodology. Demonstrate recruitment and consenting of participants into the study.

02. Critically examine, analyse and synthesize knowledge relevant to research questions in professional practice.

Activities:
Evidence of effective communication between student and supervisors to undertake appropriate analysis of data.

03. Critically apply knowledge and skills of research principles and methods to plan and execute substantial research-based projects.

Activities:
Successful submission and examination of Honours thesis.
