Subject outline
This subjects will provide students with a broad practical knowledge of the regulatory and legal framework on data protection in Australia. Students will analyse federal and state laws, policies and principles regulating the governmental and commercial use of personal data and confidential material in the digital age. Topics may include case studies on surveillance and metadata, corporate data mining and social networking, the right to privacy and Government use of personal data at state and federal level.
