Subject outline

This subject enables students to develop detailed knowledge of selected methods that are commonly used by occupational ergonomists and occupational health and safety professionals to monitor, analyse and evaluate potential hazards/risks, or productivity issues. The relative advantages and disadvantages of each method for use in assessing usability, safety, health and/or general wellbeing are reviewed, with a particular focus on methods applicable to the management of physical and psychosocial hazards and environmental factors that may cause excessive localised or general fatigue, or psychological stress, or in other ways increase the risk of musculoskeletal injuries or disorders, or psychological disorders.
