This subject addresses La Trobe's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Essential. Innovation and Entrepreneurship is about using your creativity to generate new ideas, understand and solve complex problems and thrive in a fast-changing world.

Subject outline

In this subject students will investigate real life tasks and challenges and use design and technology processes in order to create solutions. Working with the new Victorian Curriculum students will have the opportunity to plan and complete a suitable application of tasks to school based learning, through the development of practical Design Briefs. Topics covered in this subject include design skills, understanding good design, design processes, working with Comic Life software, developing understandings and practical implementation strategies for STEM introduction into educational settings, evaluating products in terms of design and utility, teaching design and technology and evaluating OHS issues in schools.
