LANDSCAPE ARCHAEOLOGY

ARC2LAN

2019

Credit points: 15

Subject outline

This subject will cover a variety of topics on natural and human induced landscape dynamics. Discussion will highlight methods for interpreting past and present landscapes. We will consider the reciprocal relationship and interaction of human societies and bio-geographical landscapes. We will also factor in the influences of environmental change in these interactions. Because very few landscapes have escaped the effects of human activities, the role humans have played in landscape modification and the distributions of plants and animals, and the implications for their dynamic changes will be focal points for this subject.
