Subject outline
This subject intends to prepare students for professional practice as artists or designers (or as arts-related professionals) to facilitate the transition from art school to the work place. It culminates in students organising their end of the year exhibition. The course also introduces students to some of the basic skills needed for establishing professional practice in such areas as: small business organisation and management; taxation, finance and accounting; professional ethics, intellectual property and copyright, planning, marketing and promotion; preparation of applications (for grants, studios, scholarships), submissions (exhibitions, projects), documentations of work, the artists website and curriculum vitae.
