Subject outline

Inthis subject students acquire the basic skills and knowledge required to monitor and support Community Services workers. This includes implementing support processes to manage stress and emotional wellbeing of self or colleagues working in varied health and community service contexts. Students are introduced to the skills involved in facilitating structured debriefing sessions for colleagues who experience incidents with the potential to adversely impact their health and wellbeing. Knowledge gained in this unit applies to leadership or management roles where individuals provide peer-to-peer support and refer colleagues to specialised support services consistent with organisation guidelines.
