Subject outline

This subject considers the topic areas that will enable students to gain an understanding of risk and compliance principles, frameworks and approaches. In this subject you will focus on principles and practices in relation to risk management and compliance; broader public policy developments that have shaped these principles and practices; and the role of risk and governance professionals in ensuring proper practice is implemented and systems are in place. This subject is offered in partnership with the Governance Institute of Australia.

Students are recommended to contact the subject coordinator prior to enrolling. Classes normally begin 1-2 weeks after standard La Trobe semester and meet for 2.0 hours weekly for 12 weeks, depending on Governance Institute timetable. Classes may be offered in intensive block mode on weekends, depending on the Governance Institute timetable."
