Subject outline

This subject introduces students to a spectrum of mathematical thinking and mathematics skills required for future learning ingeneral university programs. Students will develop conceptual knowledge and procedural skills in a range of topics including arithmetical rules and operations, percentages and decimals, rates and ratios and measurement and data. Students will be enabled to solve a variety of mathematical problems using appropriate strategies, methods and techniques and to apply mathematical concepts and knowledge to different real world situations. Assessments tasks are based on cumulative development of skills and include online quizzes and two project tasks.
