Subject outline
This subject comprises a two-hour workshop and a one-hour seminar on topics on Chinese culture, civilization and value system changes. Students gain an understanding of selected key texts of Chinese culture and civilisation, such as works of literature, poetry, narratives and movies, within their historical context. Students acquire a basic understanding of traditional and modern Chinese culture and civilisation, and learn to appreciate the differences and the changes between classical and modern Chinese and culture. It will focus more on the development of Chinese culture and civilisation in modern China.
