Subject outline

This subject extends learning from Turf Management 1 and covers further principles, theoretical knowledge and practices in turf management, such as soil physics, drainage, construction, plant nutrition and the benefits of additional turf cultural practices. Deeper learning is undertaken in turf botany, covering such topics as the effect of plant hormones on growth and quality, turfgrass stress and stress relief, and the differences between cultivars within turfgrass species. These topics will underpin further learning in subsequent subjects.
