This subject addresses La Trobe's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Essential. Innovation and Entrepreneurship is about using your creativity to generate new ideas, understand and solve complex problems and thrive in a fast-changing world.

Subject outline

This placement program has been developed to allow students from the College of Science, Health and Engineering (SHE) to extend their formal academic learning beyond the classroom. It aims to provide students across various course disciplines with an opportunity to synthesise their learnings in a final year vocational subject. This subject addresses La Trobe's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Essential. Specifically, this subject provides students with opportunities to creatively apply and adapt their skills to a real-world environment and network with employers. It brings together the expertise of industry partners and La Trobe University staff for the benefit of the students professional development.

Prerequisites: Students must receive approval from the Subject Coordinator prior to enrolling in this unit

Equivalent subjects: NA

Special conditions: Students must be in at least their penultimate year of study at the time of application. For three year degrees this is equivalent to completion of 120 credit points, for a 4 year degree this is equivalent to completion of 240 credit points. This is a select entry subject. The Subject Coordinator must provide written approval before students can enrol. To be eligible to apply for this subject, students must have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60 or above. Students must submit a current academic transcript, resume and Expression of Interest form to be considered for this subject. There is a quota of 30 students per campus per semester.
