Students critically examine the organisation, administration, costs and funding of healthcare services in Australia; the form and functioning of the Australian political system as it affects health and health-related policy; and the role of government in funding and service provision. Topics include the policy process, federalism, parliament and the public service, parties and interest groups, health providers and consumers.
