Subject outline
In this subject students will consolidate their clinical skills in the areas of practice taught in the previous clinical practice subjects. More complex skills in restorative dentistry and periodontal instrumentation will be developed. They will develop new clinical skills in the areas of pulp therapy, preformed metal crowns, deciduous exodontia and orthodontics. They will be introduced to vital tooth whitening procedures. Students will acquire advanced skills in pain history taking, differential diagnosis, pulp pathology and radiographic assessment. In addition, students will refine their rudimentary skills in oral health education and patient management. Radiography skills will be further developed.
