In this subject, students are offered the opportunity to design and implement a project that supports the development of their clinical expertise, scholarly inquiry and skills in reporting. Students may design a project that is completed within this subject or a project that spans both this subject and the subject titled Independent Study Unit (NSM5ISU), which would normally precede this subject. Students are allocated an academic supervisor who offers guidance throughout the duration of the investigation. The subject is delivered via a flexible online mode via the LMS and regular communication with a designated academic and/or clinical supervisor.

Prerequisites: If the student is enrolled in HMN or HMND then must have passed NSM5RFN, NSM5CPR, NSM5APA and NSM5APB If the student is enrolled in HMMID then must pass NSM5APA, NSM5APB and NSG5PCA or NSM5CIA. If the student is enrolled in HMMH then must pass NSM5CPR, NSM5RFN, MMH5AMP and MMH5AMH.
