Subject outline
In this subject students focus on the structure and content of technology curriculum, including Design and Technology Systems, Engineering and Food Technology. Students also consider the place and role of Technology in the structure of VELS, VCE and VCAL. Studies in this subject develop proficiency in a range of approaches associated with the design process and relevant to the Design & Technology Curriculum. Students develop an understanding of the nature of the links between teaching and learning which are practical and theoretical, between the Technology curriculum and their personal trade/industrial knowledge and experience.

02. Make links between the intentions expressed in the Australian Curriculum: Technologies documentation and planning within school based programs

- Analyse school-based Technology programs as case studies and identify the inter connections and relationship to the intentions expressed in curriculum documents
03. Apply theories of activity based learning and experiential learning in specialised learning contexts
- Activities:
- Design and utilse a wide range of teaching strategies; explore a wide range of learning theories, analyse and select appropriate teaching strategies that align with intended learning
04. Analyse and critique concepts associated with Technology Studies practice
