Subject outline
In this subject you will undertake a full range of treatments for patients. Building upon your previous clinical experience, the level of complexity expected will be appropriate to final-year students. You will undertake two clinical placements in public dental facilities. You will also have the opportunity to observe specialist practitioners at work. You will refine your skills in clinical care and patient motivation to gain optimal health to levels required for beginner level independent practice. At the end of the year, you should be able to provide evidence that you are competent and safe in the provision of care over a broad range of areas to enable you to register as a dental practitioner.

- Activities:
- Students will be allocated patients from a wide range of age and background. Each patient will be subjected to a thorough examination, appropriate diagnostic tests to allow the student to formulate a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan. Students will be expected to discuss this plan with both clinical supervisors and patients or guardians.

02. Develop strategies to restore teeth and the dentition to acceptable form,functionand aesthetics
- Activities:
- Clinical Practice - Students will undertake a variety of clinical procedures on a variety of patients throughout the year. Clinical demonstrators will oversee their approach and execution of treatment offering constructive feedback. Certain specific tasks will be set for each student to undertake to demonstrate competency with that task.Clinical Logbooks and Competency Assessment sheets will record progress

03. Manage pulp and peri-radicular disease and disorders
