Subject outline

In this subject students are given the opportunity to explore the clinical sciences that underpin advanced knowledge in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy. The broad subject areas are the pain sciences and human tissue sciences. Tissue sciences will include the soft tissues: muscle, tendon, connective tissue, and bone. The subject will cover how tissues develop, how they adapt to normal and intense use, and how they respond to overload and injury. This knowledge is integral to the development of scientifically-designed rehabilitation programs in physiotherapy.
